Our Beliefs

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is coequal with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He was buried and arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return once again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:11, 13-14 , 1 Thess. 4:16-17; Heb. 9:28; Rev. 1:7-8 Matt. 24:36, 44; John 14:1-3)

The Holy Spirit

Man

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates man from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

We believe that all are born sinners; the Holy Spirit convicts of sin; the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for sin by shedding His precious blood on the cross as the atonement for sin; those who refuse to accept His sacrifice for their sin are eternally lost; and those who repent of their sin and personally accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior receive the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-13; 1 Cor 6:9-11)

God created a biological male and female in his image, and as image bearers, there is inherent value in life from the moment of conception until natural death, as a result, all life is sacred. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10.)

Additionally, we believe God’s plan for sexual relationships should only be expressed in the context of marriage between a biological man and a biological woman. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.)

We believe in and provide an atmosphere of love and restoration that creates a setting and a place of safety for those who struggle with gender issues, whereby they can live according to stated Biblical teachings and not according to current cultural dictates or their own beliefs or those of others. (1 Peter 1:22.)

The Bible

We believe that the Holy Bible, composed of both the Old and New Testaments, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths and is our rule of faith and practice. (2 Tim.3:16-172 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26.)

Salvation

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God to all human beings, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.

Eternity

Man was created to exist forever. After death, one will either exist eternally united with God in Heaven or exist eternally separated from God in Hell. The gift of eternal life is offered to every individual. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. (Revelation 20:15; Matthew 18:8; Matthew 25:44, 46.)

Eternal Security

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. (John 10:28-29; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

The Church

The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23.)

It is the Pastor’s responsibility to lead the local church and to equip the membership for ministry. Each member has the responsibility to discover and employ their gifts in the life of the church. Every Christian needs to discover and be faithful in their ministry for Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:7; Ephesians 4:11-13; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 4:10-11)

We believe that we should obey Jesus’ command to preach the gospel to all the world. (Matt. 28:19-20; Ps. 96:3; Rev. 14:6-7)

We believe that the members of the Body of Christ are the Church and that they should regularly fellowship with one another in a local church.
